Neat.
There's one problem, however: the extra info the
spotlight window displays when viewing a bookmark. For some reason
that I have not been able to discover, Safari's bookmarks are allowed
to display only "Url" when the small "i" next to the entry is clicked.
My del.icio.us bookmarks, however, feel compelled to tell me their
filesystem creation and modification dates, size, and path.
Furthermore, when I control-click on the Safari bookmarks, "Reveal in
Finder" is dimmed, while it is enabled for the del.icio.us entries.
So now I'm trying to understand how spotlight determines:
* Which attributes to list when you click the small "i". I thought
it was just the <displayattrs> in schema.xml, but apparently there's
more to it than that.
My guess is that this is due to how external schema's are merged
with the system schema. Perhaps Vince DeMarco will read this and
provide more information.
* Whether to enable the "Reveal in Finder" context menu item.
It's clearly not UTI, since my UTI
(org.ianhenderson.delicious.bookmark) is already a subtype of
com.apple.safari.bookmark. I've also used mdls on both kinds of file,
and I can't find any special metadata for either thing. Any ideas?
