This does work from the command line (mdfind "kMDItemDisplayName == '*myfolder*'") but not from within the spotlight or the finder search field.


So it is a UI problem. Looks like the finder and the spotlight UI are searching for '<input>*'. Does anyone know if this is the intended behaviour? If so, how do I specify a search for '*<input>*'?

Anyway - since this is off topic here, I guess I'll go find another place to ask this question - or just file a bug. Thanks.
