1. Does anyone have an idea of how to migrate a schema, in other words, short of writing masses of code how does one migrate data from one schema version to another ?

See <http://www.cocoabuilder.com/archive/message/cocoa/ 2005/5/11/135606>, and <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/ Cocoa/Conceptual/CoreData/Articles/cdVersioning.html>.

2. I have been using an SQLLite type store for an app of mine and wondered what the performance characteristics of an SQLLite store are as the data set grows ?

See <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ CoreData/Articles/cdFAQ.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001802- DontLinkElementID_16> and <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/ Cocoa/Conceptual/CoreData/Articles/cdPersistentStores.html>.
Core Data adds some overhead, but (a) the overhead is not particularly large, and (b) a major advantage of the SQLite store is that it "does not require that the entire object graph reside in memory".
