Greetings,

The next meeting of Cocoaheads will be Tuesday November 8th for Portland OR and Los Angeles (Orange County), and Thursday November 10th for Los Angeles (Santa Monica), Silicon Valley, Boston, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh.

Information on the location of each meeting can be found at <http:// cocoaheads.org/>. Portland and Pittsburgh are meeting in different locations than last time.

All chapters are being sent a copy of the new "Advanced Mac OS X Programming" book as a door-prize. Thanks go out to the Big Nerd Ranch for providing us a box of books. Some Coocaheads T-shirts will be available for purchase too.

Los Angeles (Orange County) is a new chapter this month! They'll be meeting at Diedrich Coffee in Lake Forest on tuedsay. Thanks to Scott Ellsworth for organizing this chapter.

Highlights from some of the chapters:

Portland, OR: Dave Howell will be presenting a tutorial on FxPlug

St. Louis, MO: The St. Louis chapter is working on a project: Desktop Fiend

Pittsburgh, PA: MarkD will be giving an introduction on the creation of custom NSViews, including drawing and event handling.

And as always, there's the chance to meet and greet your fellow programmers, and a chance to show everyone what you've been working on.

Hope to see everyone there,
++Mark Dalrymple, email@hidden
