Just one note: Try it out before you start any serious work in GNUstep. It appears people get widely different results. There seem to be some people (and most of the developers) who seem to be having no problems compiling and deploying GNUstep, but there are also people for whom it hasn't been successful at all.


Some parts of Cocoa are just missing in GNUstep, and depending on what your app does you may not need that, or it may be a show- stopper. Of course you also won't have any of the non-Cocoa APIs in GNUstep, like QuickTime or any Carbon calls your app makes.
