AppKit source code should be public when...

it's obsolete.

Let's take the example of NSTabView.

NSTabView is crippled by bugs in Mac OS X 10.2 when you have a textured window:

- The spacing is not the same as in Mac OS X 10.3

- The background is drawn using the Window Background color or pattern

- The background does not draw itself correctly when you resize a window.

So it could be VERY interesting if Apple could release AppKit source code which has been obsoleted so that we could fix bugs when we need to support old OS X releases.
