  Hello all,

I tried to install a new keyboard layout (by putting it in
Library/Keyboard Layouts) but failed (the new keyboard does not
appear in International>Input Menu after restarting ). The "Installable
Keyboard Layouts" Apple webpage says I should look at console.log to see
what happened.

In the console I get the following error message which I find hard
to decipher :

  Mac OS X Version 10.4 (assemblage 8A428)
2005-11-09 16:12:06 +0100
2005-11-09 16:12:07.864 SystemUIServer[86] lang is:fr
2005-11-09 16:12:31.275 pbs[80] CFLog (0):
CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not
proper UTF-8. The file name for this data could be:
	/System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Resources/Languages/en
The parser will retry as in 10.2, but the problem should be corrected in
the plist.

It does not tell me who is the wrong file
(I guess it should be my .keyboard file, but I'm not quite sure)
or just what data is not proper UTF-8. Does anyone understand this error
message
better than I do ? Is there a way to understand better what's going on (an
application
other than the console, for example ?)

                                                                                                   Ewan
