You could have any tooltip pop up, then press Cmd-Shift-3 to take
a screenshot (so you don't have to move off the tooltip's source).
Open the picture on your desktop and use DigitalColor Meter (in your
Apps/Utilities folder) to sample the color.

background color as tool tip's. I've tried all system colors that the
NSColor class can return, but still out of luck. I know that I can
hardcode the RGB value to something like 0xFEFEC9, but I would
prefer to
ask the system for this color, so that I can make it always
conformed to
the appearance settings. Any idea?
