Ian,
Take a look at NSTask. That will do what you need.

Good afternoon,

I currently am developing a C Tool in XCode that is run manually from within
Xcode, but I would like to put a front end on it using Cocoa that would
allow me pass it parameters to control its functionality. Is it possible to
link a Cocoa front end to C routines/applications? Is it difficult to do so?
Can values be passed between the layers (int, string etc...)? Any help on
where to start looking would be welcomed.

Kind regards,
