After a bit of browsing the docs and writing some quick'n'dirty test code, I have now seen that NSMenu does in fact support what I have in mind.

Felix

Hi,

is it possible to update the text of an NSMenuItem while the NSMenu it belongs to is being displayed?
For example to provide a running countdown, updated every second, within the text of the menu item. Or is the contents of NSMenus, once displayed, static until they are "closed"?

Felix
