odd breakpoint behavior in Xcode 2.1

  • Subject: odd breakpoint behavior in Xcode 2.1

When I run a program in Xcode 2.1 in debug mode, and hit a breakpoint, Xcode does not display a window for the file in which the break has occurred, or, if the window is already displayed, does not show the line of code where the break occurred.
Is the problem
(1) improper Xcode preference settings;
(2) a corrupt copy of Xcode;
(3) something else?
