There is a core data example on Apple's developer site called Core Recipes that has at least one many-to-many relationship in it. If I recall correctly is was the relationship between chefs and recipes. There is at least one GUI design in there to handle a many-to-many relationship that I thought worked rather well.

Might want to take a look at it and see if it works for your situation.
