Hey Edward,
Just a quick follow up regarding this issue - I've only had a few
minutes this morning to take a look, in my fooling around it's true
that while the preview doesn't show up in the player window, the
frames are indeed recorded - if you press record, wait, press stop
you can view the recorded frames.
So the VDig is actually working, why QTPlayer is not drawing the
frames during preview...well, I'll have to talk to some QTPlayer
folk and see what's up.
The SoftVDigX sample code appears to have other problems too.. I've
just finished
(or at least thought I'd finished) a VDIG based on this code, which
essentially
CopyBits out of a previously selected screen or window, translates to
'2vuy' and presents
it as if it were attached camera output. Works beautifully.. however,
all is not well
when it comes to saving!
I banged my head against the wall for a few hours trying to figure
out why, when
I'd completed the recording (using HackTV, or the new movie recording
feature in
QT7) the file that was saved to disk wasn't playing back. QT would
silently ignore
it, VLC will play it.. but with some corruption.
I thought it was my code, until I regressed back to the original sample
code with no modifications, and the same problem occurs! I tried several
compressors on it, saving it as raw YUV 4:2:2, saving it as h.264
etc. and
they all show the same problem. I open the file in Quicktime and it
just ignores me.. no error message etc. VLC does random things etc.
I believe I've ruled out the kext being the issue (removed all
connections to
it, altered SoftVDigXCompressDone to just pass back the original
frame_00 2yuv
array contents.. results in the same issues).
Anyone else have this problem with the sample code?
(Tiger 10.4.2 / QT 7.0.2)
