Great, that's helpful! ^_^ So then where do I keep the default files to be loaded? (The ones specified in the XML file.) Obviously I want this to work on any system... Should I perhaps store the default images in the .app bundle as well, and copy the ENTIRE file there if the library directory does not exist?

That's quite often how it's done, yes. One advantage to this is a simple install - just drag 'n drop the app, no installer needed.

If you packaged the initial set of images & XML file(s) separately, you'd either need an installer (which a lot of people don't like), or complicated "put this here, that there, and those over there" installation instructions (which a lot of people will get wrong).
