Plus/minus example?

Is there a good example of how to implement a plus/minus UI element? Similar to what is in System Preferences->Accounts? It uses a modal sheet. I've seen others where it simply sets the focus of the cursor in a line of an NSTextView or possibly an NSTableView.

Is there a preferred method for this sort of UI element?
