Making the title of an NSBox editable?

I have an NSBox subclass and I would like to make the title editable like any other NSTextField. The title cell appears to be an NSTextFieldCell but setEditable and setSelectable seem to have no effect. I thought this would be fairly simple. Does anyone know what I am missing?
