Maybe you can feed the NSTextAttachment with virtual filenames

I could not use the NSAttachmentAttributeName on any other character than the NSAttachmentCharacter
(I am running 10.3)
Do you insert those NSAttachmentCharacter or do you realy change the NSTextAttachment attribute of any kind of string?
