NSLayoutManager stalls and never finishes layout

Hi everyone,
I've recently come across what I think is a bug in NSLayoutManager. Basically NSLayoutManager says it has no layout holes but some of the glyphs have not been placed into text containers.
AFAIK the problem isn't anything stupid I've overlooked, eg: no more text containers, containers are too small, etc. The document is nothing special: many paragraphs with different fonts, some tabs-- no graphics or tables or anything fancy.
I've filed a reproducible case as radar://4321458, but in the meantime I'm hoping someone else has run into this and has a workaround. I've tried invalidating glyphs and layout to see if that would jolt the NSLayoutManager into action, but no luck. If anyone has any tips, I'd be very appreciative, thanks,
~Martin
