Click-Enables Editing in NSTextField

Hello,

I'm trying to create a text field that is disabled (or otherwise does NOT have the focus, even though it's the only focusable item in the window) upon startup, gains the focus if you click inside it, and then loses focus if you click OUTSIDE it, or press return, so that I can accept keystrokes (like how photoshop does, without modifiers) for commands, and it won't type inside the text field.

Does anyone have any advice on how to do this?
