I don't think so. But I'm using CoreData, array controllers and bindings. So there are some possible sources for this problem. Maybe I should try with a simple delegate approach. But it's just not that important for me right now.

Apple tend to get their UIs working smoothly, though?

Hm. You know of any Apple-Cocoa-Apps that use autohiding sliders?
(I don't think Safari counts; I'm pretty sure it's handling sliders on it's own, not by using scroll views.)
