Yes, I can confirm that this is happening on 10.4.2. It just cropped up
recently, but the code runs through setting the dock image, and nothing
changes. Killing the Dock does trigger a working update - I'll keep
watching to see if it keeps updating - maybe the Dock just gets distracted
with long uptimes?
