Find the height of the toolbar?

Hey All...
Im writing a preference window that contains multiple views to allow 'tabbing' of the users preferences.
The user can change area via a simple click on the toolbar [like the preference window in Mail and safari]
My only problem is, when the window resizes, it doesn't take into consideration the height of the toolbar, thus, the view gets located behind the toolbar, rather than under the toolbar...
So, my question is.
Is there a way to find out what the height of the toolbar is?
I could work it out mathematically, but I'd rather not hard code pixels =D
Cheers !
