Is there a reason the transparent region is much larger than the visible
one?



its round :) the corners are transparent, this means that the larger the view gets, the bigger the corners and the more noticeable it is that the transparent area is draggable.


Kaspar has pointed me at an example at apple I should have seen before, http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/RoundTransparentWindow/ RoundTransparentWindow.html so Ill take a look and see how they do it.
