By and large, hiding UI based on it being enabled or not is
often confusing to users.
It all depends upon what you have. There are places in my UI where
radio groups (or radio-group like controls) drive what is shown by a
tabless tab view.
The original post was very general in nature. and I simply wanted to
provide options. I do agree though that it's not a solution for all
situations.
