Round Image on Round Button

I've never seen a round image on a round button, and now I probably know
why. Instead of exactly covering the button, the system positions my image
about 1-2 pixels too high too far to the right on the button, so it looks
ugly:

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried to "fool" it by scaling and
clipping the image and/or alpha mask by 1-2 pixels, but it just gets worse.

Assuming the answer is "no", I suppose one could maybe subclass NSControl
and make his own button class? But I've never done anything like this and
I'd appreciate a pointer or two before I go dig myself into the wrong hole.
