It's not clear why you override this? -- see <http:// developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/ApplicationKit/ ObjC_classic/Classes/NSPersistentDocument.html>. Delete this method...

Thank you, that fixed it. To be honest I'm not sure why I had that in there in the first place; nor am I sure why I didn't try deleting it. Seems obvious now. Anyhow, thanks.
