This is a bit of a FAQ.
Compare the -visibleRect to the -bounds of the text view. If the visible rect is at the end of the bounds, the user can see the end. Otherwise the user can not.
P.S. One of the reasons I love the Mac community is that developers think of things like not auto-scrolling a text view if I have scrolled up and am reading something. It is this attention to detail that makes the platform nice. I contrast this experience with certain other platforms where the focus is stolen from the user frequently and such niceties as respecting my chosen scroll position are ignored. _______________________________________________
