Tim,
Thanks for the response. I tried this with a QTVR clip as you
requested and the problem still occurs but in a slightly different
way. Originally I saw the ImageView fade out to black, then the
movie image appear immediately followed by the movie controller
fading in from black. With the QTVR clip, the ImageView fades to
black, then the QTVR controller fades in followed by the movie image
appearing with no fade. Hope this helps and let me know if you have
any other ideas or questions. Thanks again!

I have been playing around with NSViewAnimations and can get them to
work great for fading in and out between 2 NSImageViews. However,
when I try to fade out an NSImageView and fade in a QTMovieView, the
QTMovieView does not fade in as it should. The image portion of the
movie appears instantly (does not fade) while the controller across
the bottom of the movie does fade in as it should. Has anyone else
seen this problem or have any suggestions on how to get the
QTMovieView to fade in properly?
I suspect that this is a result of the way QTMovieView currently does
its drawing. I have logged the issue into our bug database. Off the
top
of my head, I can't think of any workaround that would make this
function correctly. Sorry about that. Hope you didn't spend too much
time trying to get this to work.
Just curious: does this fail for *all* movies loaded into the
QTMovieView? Could you try, say, a QuickTime VR movie?
