how to implement equivalent of -[NSTableView _getFullyFormedCellAtColumn:row:]?

I have an NSTableView subclass for which I'd link to implement autosized columns. OmniAppKit does have an implementation of this, but it uses the data source to populate the cell. I need this to work when my table doesn't get its data from a data source but through bindings.

It appears that NSTableView uses -[NSTableView _getFullyFormedCellAtColumn:row:] when it needs to do something similar. Of course, that is a private method that I shouldn't use :-).

How can I fetch the object value for a row and column if the table view is using bindings?

Thanks,
Jim
