I think I remember having this problem, and you certainly aren't alone.

It's probably something in the Xcode setup for the framework import.

Your search paths are defined in:
Targets -> [YourAppName] -> Get info -> Build -> Framework Build Paths setting

I changed mine to where my source resides on my HD and dumped the
framework in there. Once XCode finds it, it's a lot happier. This is
probably a bad idea as it now becomes a PITA to move the folder
around, but, like you, I know next to nothing of all the hardcore
compilation goodies within the targets menu :)
