tablecolumn and programmatic bindings

Hi all, I am a bit confused by the documentation and can't get my stuff to work.

I have a table view that i can set up in IB to access given data from the managedObjectContext and the NSArrayController in my project.
But I need to be able to turn on and off any given table column at any time, so i figured i need to set up the columns programmatically, which is easy and all, but how do i add the binding info to the NSTableColumn? I can not get any smarter from the docs, so maybe someone has some working code or a link to a good article on this?

Thanks all,
Ben
