Can you use the debugger to step through the app's startup in Tiger
and see exactly which part of the initialization kills the dock?
This would provide a useful clue, I'm sure.

I've got a nice(?) litte NSWindow based project that I've been
working on in Xcode 2.2, that deploys
fine in Tiger. In Panther (10.3.9), however, it starts up and runs,
but the dock disappears and can't be reached as long as the
application are running. When I quit the appliction, the dock
returns and acts normally again. Really annoying for users using
Panther.
I noticed that the the dock "flashes" (it disapears and returns
really fast) even when I start the application on Tiger. However,
besides this little glitch, my application and everything else
seems to work fine as long as I'm using Tiger.
It's a simple NSWindow based application. Just a searchfield, a
popup-button and a Webview. Except for the simple GUI, I'm also
using an carbon function to set an global HotKey
(RegisterEventHotKey / MyHotKeyHandler) that triggres the
serachField. Thats it..
I've specified the 10.3.9 cross development SDK in XCode, cleaned
targets etc., and nothing
helps. Any tip and/or advice would be very appreciated..
