When in doubt, use Cocoa. :)
If you're not sure what resources are available in Cocoa, it's probably
best to buy a "Learning Cocoa" book and read through it. It should give
you a good overview.

Thanks for that Tim.
It's sometimes difficult to know when to use C and when to use Cocoa.
Does anyone know of a resource that would help make this decision
whilst I'm learning? i.e. something like a list of C commands and
near-equivalent Cocoa commands?
The trouble is that I'm discovering commands in C and using them, only
to discover later that there's a better version of that C command in
Cocoa!
