Hi All.
All of the Spotlight documentation talks about creating Metadata to
be indexed, but there is nothing about content indexing. Is there
any documentation available about content indexing?
You mean content indexing as in the file contents itself? Thats done
at save time via spotlight plugins, or a forced re-index (refresh) of
the spotlight database, again using spotlight plugins.
If you mean initiating a content index actively (not passively
letting spotlight do it when it wants to) then you can probably touch
the file to cause an automatic re-scan by spotlight or utilize
mdimport (http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/
Manpages/man1/mdimport.1.html) I believe.
