Hello:
Regarding the "ugly black" frame, you can actually search for this
by name. Here's one source:

UglyBlackHighlightRectWhenDraggingToNSTableView
Be advised that the solution posted here overrides private API
methods, which isn't a very good idea for a shipping app.
Unfortunately, this is the only way to solve this problem at present.

Finally made it by ploughing thru the documentation pages one more
time.
My dragImage’s got its bg color, and – thanks to Uli Kusterer – is
transparent like the original one.
Looks cool (like rippin off one of my changing-background rows).
Thank you
so much.
Btw, can anybody give me a clue where cocoa creates that ugly black
frame
indicating a valid drop target
in an NSOutline View (where can I “plug in” to alter it)?
Been lookin thru the DND related docs back and forth, found a lot
about
highlighting selections, but nothing about that special rectangles...
Thank you once more,
peter
