Mac OS X 10.4 and later supports icon files with 256x256x32 icons in
addition to the existing 128x128x32 and on down. They also have a high
quality scaler with logic that will pick the closest icon and scale as
needed while caching the results. If you provide such icon files you
should be good. Of course the best way is to use a vector format, PDF
being the most sensible (assuming they render well enough in the
16x16, 32x32 realm).
