show and hide NSWindow

Hi All,
In my application I want to achieve two functionalites:
1. Show the window in minimized state.
2. Hide the window in minimized window.

Currently for first functionality I show the window and then minimize it and
in case of  second I first restore the minimized window and then hide it but
it may irritate the user.

Could anyone give me a pointer or code on above issues?
