No, not an archive of programming project. Like I said "portable" is
the way to go. In a dialog files of choice get selected, theres is no
restriction on the
type of file even binaries are allowed. I need to a way to concat the selected
files to pipe them trough a encryption stage, since I don't wan't to encrypt
each file seperately. (And vor some other reasons.)

Hi,

does someone know some kind of framework for creating tar-archives?
In fact it doesn't have to be tar, but I need a portable way to
concat files and extract them. Zip is undesirably because the data
gets encoded afterwards and well its pretty boring and error-prone
to create this task yourself.

Are you going to create an archive of your programming project to upload to a server. It's quite easy to create a target in Xcode that will automatically create a tar archice, via a custom shel script. ------------------------------------- This sig is dedicated to the advancement of Nuclear Power Tommy Nordgren email@hidden
