I have problems transferring files using the ftp command in a
NSTask. The problem is reproducible using the identical commands in
Terminal.app
Basically, where there are utf-8 non-ASCII characters in the file
name, the characters appear as multi-byte character equivalents when
the file is uploaded using the ftp shell command to my web hosting
Linux server. The same garbled file name also occurs when using
curl to do the ftp transfer. However, the file transfers perfectly
when I use Panic's Transmit Application, with the proper utf-8
encoded name appearing on the Linux server.
Any tips on how to get these files to upload correctly is appreciated.
