I have an app like what you are describing. I created a tabbed view with tabs
for each "frame". After you connect all the views in IB you turn off the show
tabs atribute so the tab bar is hidden. I set up some buttons along the top
that call a method to tell the tab view to select the corresponding tab. Works
like magic.
