OT: The "Apple way" of doing things

  • Subject: OT: The "Apple way" of doing things

Hi,
Could you please provide an opinion on following issue:

In my application I have a list of things which could be started/ stopped. Next to the list I have set of buttons. What first button does depends on status of selection in the list of things. For example, if thing selected in the list is running, then button will do "stop". If the thing is idle, then button will do "start". Beside button which operates with "single" thing, I have another button which does "start all/stop all". What this button does depend on status of the things in the list as well. If ALL things are idle, then this button will do "start all" if ANY of the things in the list are running, then it will do "stop all".

The question is: Is this a good way of doing things. Especially the way "start all/stop all" button works?

Looking forward to your comments,

Andrei Tchijov
