A good book to start with thats recent

So i am once again going through books to get for the holiday winter
and emerge with Cocoa knowledge. I scoped this book
Beginning Mac OSX Programming
http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Mac-Programming-Michael-Trent/dp/0764573993/sr=8-4/qid=1165590193/ref=pd_bbs_4/105-1376326-0590005?ie=UTF8&s=books

It looked fairly recent and smart, but what are your reviews on it? I
only saw three at amazon which does not help much.

Also I recall someone pointing out a PDF from apple that was the
definite guide to read before anything, I just cant recall its name.
