At the risk of saying "me too", I have the same problem, though it is with the top view of an NSSplitView. You can see the problem by running the interface in IB. I don't have a web site, but would be happy to email the nib file to anyone interested.

Hi,
I have an NSSplitView with 2 subviews, top and bottom.
I drag the horizontal divider to the bottom side of the NSSplitView to
collapse the bottom view. Still ok. Then I reopen it, and the objectes there
contained have changed position. Some objects have even disappeared.
This happens even if I don't completely collapse the bottom view. It happens
even with bottom view height = 20.
No matter what setAutoresizingMask I set to the bottom view and its
subviews. It seems that when the height of the bottom view is very small,
the nested objects lose their position. Any idea to avoid that?
