I have seen this behavior when I don't properly set up the auto
sizing of the objects, nor the view containing the objects. The auto
sizing can be accomplished through using IB's inspector.

At the risk of saying "me too", I have the same problem, though it is
with the top view of an NSSplitView. You can see the problem by
running the interface in IB. I don't have a web site, but would be
happy to email the nib file to anyone interested.
