Well, the reason I was asking is: although the PDF spec is huge, producing a
PDF that is 1 image per page and nothing else takes only a few pages of
code. If that's what you need, you might take another look at the PDF spec.
Of course another option is to post-process the PDF with one of the many
"optimization" tools around.
