managedObjectContext.hasChanges not binding right to non-menu UI items?

  • Subject: managedObjectContext.hasChanges not binding right to non-menu UI items?

Is there any reason why I can't get a working behavior out of binding the
documentEditied attribute of a window (in a non-document based Core Data
app) to managedObjectContext.hasChanges ? .. I bind the enable status of my
save menu to this attribute and it works well at disable/enabling the menu
-- now I'd like it to show the window as dirty as well.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
