Not that I'm about to go back to Carbon with this code, but there was a time
when I tried to use the Carbon menu implementation in Mozilla with the Cocoa
version of Mozilla and it didn't work. Seems to me that you can't use the
Carbon menu manager in a cocoa app, but for curiosity's sake I'd love to be
shown that I'm incorrect about that.

Maybe you could move the code that »translates« the XUL menu to osx
away from cocoa and use carbon to do draw the menu. You can mix both
of hem. - If carbon is really able to do this (I don't know - never
seen a duplicated menu item in OS9).
