Have a look at NSTimer.
Even this won't be perfect; what happens when the user has selected
a custom sound that is ... 'longish'? :-)
The user gets what he asked for. :-)
One could use NSSound to play the sound, and start an NSTimer for the
pause in -sound:DidFinishPlaying:, but the question then becomes how
to find the selected system beep for use with NSSound?
