Spotlight importer question

Hi, I would start to write a spotlight importer for a bundle that I use as my file format. I would use dokuments inside like word excel pdf jpeg and what ever!! So If I write a importer, is their a way to use importer from the OS inside a importer project? Like reusing word (ms office) importer.
