Question on modifying of login item

  • Subject: Question on modifying of login item

Hi All,

I have tried adding my application programmatically to the login item and it
did appear on the deck the next time I logged into the OS. But it seems
that, similar to the other applications on the deck, it never really got
running until I click on it to launch. But initially, the behavior I am
looking at is to allow my application, once installed into the user's
machine, will be able to add itself to the list of applications that start
to run behind the scene the moment user log into the OS. This application of
mine involves periodical check for updates which is why it should always be
running even if it is not manually launched. What can I do to achieve this?
Thanks a lot.

Regards
David
